Meet The Team


David Lane
Owner and Program Director
With 26 years of coaching experience in basketball, softball, baseball, and football, David is bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the development and management of this multi-use facility.
David has been involved with planning
and coordinating individual skills and team camps for multiple sports since he started coaching in 1996. In 2000, he founded and coordinated Iowa City Thunder, a youth basketball feeder program for Iowa City West High School. A program that continues to serve the girls program today.
In 2003, David was named head women’s basketball coach at Chipola College in Marianna, FL. From 2012-2014 David served as an assistant coach for Drake Women’s Basketball under Jennie Baranczyk. Part of his duties at Drake included assisting in the planning and coaching of Bulldog Basketball Camps. He also served as the Team Camp Director, organizing the three day, 48-team event each summer.

Since 2014, David has been heavily involved with youth sports in Ankeny. He has coached teams in Ankeny Centennial Basketball Club, Ankeny Girls Softball Association, Ankeny Junior Football, and i9basketball and football. He is currently on Executive Board of AGSA and the General Board of ACBC.
With David’s extensive experience across several sports and at various age levels, the PRAIRIE TRAIL SPORTS COMPLEX will be a place that can help maximize the benefits for its members. It will also provide much needed gym access to Ankeny residents, in a convenient location, for years to come.

Brady Randall
Facility Director
A graduate from Northern Iowa with a B.A. in Leisure, Youth, and Human Service: Program Administration and a M.S. in Sports Management from Louisiana State University, Brady Randall will be the Facility Director, in charge of day-to-day operations of the PRAIRIE TRAIL SPORTS COMPLEX.
For the past 11 years, Brady has worked in the Drake Athletics department. He has handled the daily operations of Drake’s Knapp Center (basketball and volleyball), Drake Stadium (football, track and field, and soccer), Drake’s Softball complex, Roger Knapp Tennis Center, and Bell Center Recreation Center. He’s also been responsible for game day operations at these venues. This includes coordinating Game Officials and Game Protocols, Set- up and Tear-down of facility, Scoreboard Video Board and PA operations, Custodial Services, Security, Parking Operations, and Hospitality Services.
Brady was also responsible for Facility Operations of larger annual events including Drake Relays, Jim Duncan Relays, NCAA Outdoor Championships, and Iowa High School State track meets.

His experience in Facility Operations will prove invaluable when coordinating with the community, coaches, and clubs in the area to ensure a beneficial experience for all when using the PRAIRIE TRAIL SPORTS COMPLEX.
